Dear Members & Supporters,
On Friday, 17th July, we farewelled our founding chairperson, Lady Winifred Kamit and two other dedicated board members, Dr. Cecilia Nembou and Mrs. Fiu Williame-Igara who have contributed immensely to this cause since its inception. Lanna Assaigo-Kami replaces Lady Kamit as CFC’s new Chairperson and two new board Members: Ms Stacey-Levakia-Wali and Ms Ayesha Lutschini filling the vacant positions available. We welcome them to the Board and look forward to their contribution. In this edition, we will also feature our awareness series on the Family Protection Act 2013 that is being conducted at the private sector since July.
Coalition for Change PNG was fortunate to have a participant –Ms Leslie Thomas, at the Media &
Advocacy Training facilitated by Divine Word University in collaboration with ExxonMobil (PNG) Ltd from the 4th –6th of July 2016 at Dream Inn in Port Moresby .
The training was conducted for all community based Not for Profits Organisations who receive donation support from Exxon Mobil (PNG) one way or another.
It is envisioned that the training will enhance skills of these organisations in their advocacy work on the various community issues they promote.
CFC ran a series of Family Protection Act 2013 Awareness from late June to early July in the private sector. It started with ANZ bank’s head office at Harbour City and to its other branches around the city including Waigani, Jackson Airport, Boroko & Port Moresby.
